About
So you want to know about me? That’s cool. Or depending on who you are, a little creepy. There’s not much to know about me – I’m a simple man with complex tastes. I’m also a humble little man with much to be humble about.
In the freezing depths of winter in 1974, I was born in Nelson, New Zealand to Doug and Bronwen Duncan. Our family moved to Australia, when I was eleven.
In 1992, we relocated to Hobart, Tasmania. It was in Tasmania that I met my wonderful wife – no we’re not related. We were married in September, 1998.
In 2004 we moved to Canberra, ACT.
I have been blessed with children – two wonderful girls. God has been kind, and continues to give us grace as we raise our young family.
Distinctives:
Theology:
I am a protestant, reformed, evangelical, conservative, presbyterian Christian.
Rugby Union:
As someone born and (for a while) raised in New Zealand, I am an All Blacks and Canberbury Crusaders fan. When they’re not playing the All Blacks, I support the Wallabies. When they’re not playing the Crusaders I support the ACT Brumbies. I can support these positions theologically.
Cricket:
I support the Austrlaian Cricket Team all the way. No split loyalties here. In the Sheffield Shield and Pura Cup I support the Tassie Tigers.
AFL:
I support the Geelong Cats. I hate Carlton and Collingwood. As someone who lived in Geelong and knew the great Gary Abblett, this is only right and appropriate. Please don’t misunderstand, I don’t hate any individuals on these teams, only the organisations.
Rugby League:
Having lived there during the reign of King Wally Lewis, I support the Queensland Maroons in the State of Origin. I don’t like league enough to support any other team.
Achievements:
- Time Magazine’s Person of the Year, 2006
